Grand master of slow host servers
I have been hosting with startlogic for quite some time.
So far, my experience with them has been below satisfactory at best. I am constantly having to put in performance related support tickets for their terribad server/website performance, always with the same response..."I have reviewed xxxx.com/net and seems to be fine on our end with no issues"...as if they dont even read an entire submitted ticket!
In performance related issues, OF COURSE its going to seem okay when you are viewing a website right off the server its located on or within the same building only having to load it through your internal network. Maybe if they didnt have (and this is a fact after reverse DNS checks) 7200-10k+ sites on one server this wouldnt be an issue. I even asked to be moved to a less populated server (as if thats too much to ask) to no avail.
I can say this, I also host with 1&1...although not the best hosting service out there, they blow Slowlogic out of the water bar none.
I have tried countless times to allow them to get their act together and be a loyal customer, but I am beginning to run out of patients.

OKish
The features offered by Startlogic are AMAZING and I managed to buy a unlimited 2 year plan for just over £40! But I have experienced a LOT of downtime and very slow server speeds most of the time. Review Added on: 2008-10-11
I feel I must disagree with the reviews here......
I found service was excellent, I had queries with a recent change of hosting options, but all queries where answered promptly with no fuss - I recommend and commend startlogic for there level of service. I have no regrets in my decision to go with them. I'm not one for typing reviews but when I saw such undeversed poor rating I felt I should point the curious more rightly, I found these are a good company to deal with. Review Added on: 2008-08-15
If I could give them a -5 I would!
If you enjoy dropping everything you're doing to spend 60+ hours a week on with Tech Support (who is often completely ignorant about how to solve even the simplest of issues... but that you cannot resolve yourself because their programs do not give you access to the areas you need to control your site)... then Startlogic is for you. I've used them for over 4 years and have over 8 sites with them. I'm currently in the process of trying to move all of my services and domains to another provider thanks to their horrible service and LOTS of down-time on my sites, email being down, and shopping cart errors due to their server switches. Since the vDeck 3.0 came out they've gone down hill VERY very quickly and it's rare now to get someone knowledgeable on the phone or via tech support chat to actually help you. Generally you are given the run-around, put on hold for 5 minute intervals at a time (they come back with more run-around answers if any at all), then told someone will contact you with a solution in 24 hours... which they never do. If you like feeling like you're dealing with Demons, go with startlogic! Review Added on: 2008-06-17
Horrible
Avoid Start Logic at all costs. They have broken my web site so many times over the last 6 months. Support right after they transitioned to the new platform was horrible. I would be on hold with them for 1.5 hours or more before finally giving up. Chat support would go unanswered for hours, then a response would come in when I wasn't at my computer or was looking at a different window. Support cases opened via the web were either unhelpful, only partially solved my problem, or in some cases completely ignored. STAY AWAY. Review Added on: 2008-05-23
Startlogic sucks with VDeck 3.0
Start Logic support has gone way, way downhill since their moving to VDeck 3.0. Since the above website isn't working because FrontPage extensions is now broken, and they are not sure how to fix it. They were pretty good when they were running under VDeck 1.0, but since they upgraded, the user experience is downgraded. The user interface is very, very slow and tech support is like one email per day, tops.
Startlogic sucks now.
